| Overview
Welcome to the Center for Anglican Learning & Leadership! As the Director of CALL, I am honored to meet and interact with dedicated people who every year bring to us their passions for loving God and serving the world. We who work at CALL have the pleasure of watching relationships form and deepen between fellow disciples—often across hundreds or thousands of miles. We enjoy that rare privilege of watching a community of teachers and learners grow together with the constant aim of becoming wiser, stronger, and more confident followers of Christ.
For those of you returning, welcome back. And for those of you exploring these pages for the first time, welcome to a new kind of adventure in lifelong learning. We are looking forward to getting to know you.
Every year, CALL brings together some of the best leaders and scholars in the Episcopal Church to offer courses and conferences that will stretch the hearts, minds, and imaginations of all baptized Christians. We are thrilled once again to offer a wide range of online and onsite classes, as we seek to respond to the diverse interests and needs of congregations, dioceses, and individual laity and clergy across the country.
In all our programs and events, we strive to bring together many different high-quality teachers—renowned authors, church leaders, well-known and rising scholars, and people involved in specialized ministries at both local and national levels. We continue to be grateful for the many teachers and instructors that have made CALL what it is today—a community of learning that reaches hundreds of people across the country and world.
CALL enriches adult formation and lifelong learning. CALL strengthens Christian leadership. And CALL provides a venue for honest, caring discussion of the many issues of change, challenge, and opportunity that face the Church and world today.
CALL is a conduit—connecting different groups and bringing new opportunities to individuals and communities that might not otherwise have access.
CALL is a clearinghouse—giving people theological and ministry resources, so that people don’t feel like they have to reinvent the wheel.
CALL is a clarion—beckoning faithful Episcopalians everywhere to deeper faith, greater understanding, and clearer mission.
CALL is the continuing education arm of the Church Divinity School of the Pacific.
Welcome. Enjoy. We hope you find refreshment and renewed vigor.
Faithfully,
David T. Gortner
