CDSP students may participate in a variety of organizations and activities throughout the year, including:
| Celtic Cross |
Organization composed of faculty, students, staff and partners/spouses expressing the missionary outreach concerns of the community. Outreach money comes from pledges, Community Night offerings, the soda machine and our famous Cal Game parking service. Council of students, spouses/partners, staff and faculty members, this council addresses community concerns, and oversees community events and activities. |
| Community Night |
The community (and friends) gathers weekly on Thursday evening for worship, followed by an informal reception and dinner. |
| Family Life |
This committee meets regularly to identify and address the various concerns of seminary families. |

Union (GTU) |

The Graduate Theological Union (GTU) also has several student organizations whose purposes are to build communities of understanding and concern and act in an advisory capacity to the GTU. These groups include The Doctoral Student Advisory Committee, International Students Association, GTU Black Seminarians, Academics for Social Responsibility, and Inspiracy. At a seminary and graduate theological center like CDSP, our prayer in common is both the real worship of a real community and an opportunity for reflection and practice for preachers and future liturgical leaders. Above all we rehearse our lives as the Body of Christ in the daily liturgical life at All Saints' Chapel. We celebrate the Holy Eucharist together every day, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:30, and on Thursday at 5:45. The Thursday celebration allows for the whole community (students, faculty, staff, spouses, partners, children, friends and neighbors) to come together for the Holy Eucharist followed by an informal reception and dinner in Denniston Refectory. We also pray the Daily Office, in the form of Morning and Evening Prayer, at 7:30am and 5:30pm. Morning Prayer is said every weekday during the academic term, and Evening Prayer is offered every weekday evening except Thursday. The public is welcome to attend all liturgies.
The Book of Common Prayer 1979 (BCP) provides two different eucharistic rites (Rite I and Rite II), now supplemented by eucharistic and divine office materials in Enriching Our Worship (EOW). While some members of the seminary community may prefer one rite over the others, to prepare graduates to serve the whole church, CDSP liturgy uses all the rites of the Episcopal Church, plus offers time for alternative or experimental liturgies to be celebrated each semester.
In our ongoing commitment to diversity and hospitality in liturgy, we encourage the use of gender-inclusive language, the use of other languages and customs as fit the multicultural society that is CDSP and the church to which we are all called to serve, and especially the celebration of rites from other churches of the Anglican Communion.
The Worship Committee is a faculty committee that functions as advisory to the Dean of the Chapel. The committee consists of faculty members and students, including elected and appointed class representatives and chapel sacristans. The Worship Committee oversees the master schedule for liturgical celebrations and the inclusion of alternative liturgies.
Class Weekends are a long-standing practice at CDSP. They serve to enhance student life, to provide spiritual refreshment, and to mark stages along the seminary path.
